Modern Slavery Statement

Tabitha Care Group Modern Day Slavery Statement

This statement sets out the steps that Tabitha Care Group has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur within our business or supply chains.

Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It encompasses slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. Tabitha Care Group has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically, responsibly, and with integrity in all aspects of our operations and to implementing effective systems and controls to prevent modern slavery within our organisation and supply chains.

Tabitha Care Group delivers its services in an ethical, socially responsible, and environmentally conscious manner. We fully recognise our responsibility to respect and promote human rights as set out in the International Bill of Human Rights (IBHR) and are committed to upholding the principles outlined within it. These principles underpin all our policies and practices relating to employees, agency workers, and individuals working indirectly through our supply chain.

We are also committed to embedding the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights across our operations. Respect for the dignity, rights, and freedoms of every individual forms the foundation of the standards of behaviour we expect in every workplace.

Tabitha Care Group does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, bullying, or exploitation in any form. We promote equality, diversity, and inclusion and require all managers to uphold and implement policies that support fair treatment and equal opportunity for all staff, including agency workers. These expectations are extended to our suppliers and partners.

Policies and Procedure

We maintain a range of policies to ensure ethical and transparent business practices, including:

  • A Human Rights and Ethics Policy, confirming our commitment to preventing human rights abuses within our business and supply chains
  • A Whistleblowing Policy, encouraging employees and others to report concerns, including suspected modern slavery or human trafficking, without fear of reprisal
  • Robust recruitment and onboarding procedures, including right-to-work checks for all staff
  • An Employee Code of Conduct, aligned with professional and regulatory standards

All concerns raised are taken seriously, fully investigated, and addressed appropriately in line with safeguarding and regulatory requirements.

Direct Communication

Tabitha Care Group encourages employees, service users, families, suppliers, and members of the public to raise any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery within our operations or supply chains. Concerns may be raised confidentially and will be handled sensitively and responsibly.

Suppliers and Due Diligence

We conduct appropriate due diligence on all suppliers before entering into contractual relationships. This includes checks to ensure suppliers have not been associated with modern slavery offences and that they align with our ethical standards. Our contracts require suppliers to confirm that:

  • They have taken steps to prevent modern slavery within their business
  • They hold their own suppliers accountable
  • Employees are paid in line with national minimum or living wage requirements
  • Working conditions are safe and fair, with no child labour or excessive working hours

We reserve the right to terminate contracts where breaches of this policy are identified.

Risk Assessment and Training

Our supply chains include staffing, consumables, facilities management, utilities, and waste services. We assess modern slavery risks through internal audits and ongoing monitoring. Staff are trained to recognise signs of modern slavery and understand safeguarding and reporting procedures.

Safeguards and Reporting

We support and protect anyone who raises concerns in good faith. No individual will suffer detrimental treatment for reporting suspected modern slavery. While anonymous reports are accepted, individuals are encouraged to identify themselves where possible to support effective investigation.

Responsibility and Governance

Overall responsibility for preventing modern slavery rests with the Registered Manager, who ensures this policy is implemented effectively. Managers at all levels are responsible for ensuring staff awareness, compliance, and training.

Review and Effectiveness

We recognise that modern slavery risks evolve and will continue to review and strengthen our approach through regular audits and policy reviews.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for Tabitha Care Group for the financial year ending 30th October, 2026 .
